Portable hardness tester with magnetic clamping base for Rockwell methods, RSDMAG D2/55-D4/55

ATI (Italy)

Description

RSD MAG is a portable hardness tester with a magnetic clamping base designed for Rockwell, surface Rockwell, Brinell, and Vickers methods. It is the first portable hardness tester compliant with ASTM E-18, E-10, E-110, E-103, E384 and ISO 6508, 6507, 6506 international hardness standards.

The RSD MAG is a handheld digital hardness tester with a manual drive for an automatic hardness test cycle with direct hardness readout. Thanks to the magnetic clamping base, it allows testing of large and heavy samples directly in production. It is completely orientation-independent and can operate in any direction up to 360°, even upside down.

Load forces are applied via a dynamometric load cell, eliminating the issues associated with gravity-based systems in traditional testers. The device is unaffected by vibrations and requires no leveling. It provides reliable clamping on any surface, from round to flat, with self-alignment of the indenter to the measurement axis.

Equipped with an LCD screen, user-friendly interface, real-time statistics and graphs, and large data storage. The RSD MAG ensures high accuracy and repeatability with every measurement.

Ideal for hardness testing in the laboratory or on-site — on pipes, profiles, valves, large and small parts. Suitable for all metals: cast iron, steel, hardened steel, brass, aluminum, copper, and alloys. Applicable after heat treatment, hardening, nitriding, cementation, and surfacing.
