- The roughness causes a displacement of the probe, which leads to a change in the inductance value of the induction coils, thus generating an analog signal that is proportional to the surface roughness at the output end of the phase-sensitive rectifier.
- This signal is fed into the data acquisition system after amplification and level conversion.
