Total organic carbon analyzer (TOC analyzer), TOC-V WP

Shimadzu (Japan)

Description

Benchtop laboratory total organic carbon analyzer with chemical oxidation and UV irradiation
The TOC-V WP benchtop laboratory analyzer applies the principle of so-called “wet” oxidation of organic molecules, which involves a chemical reaction with an oxidizing reagent combined with UV irradiation and heating. This approach ensures complete oxidation of organic compounds even in samples with extremely low carbon concentrations (at the level of 0.5–1 μg/L).

Features
  • High sensitivity due to the increased sample volume within the reactor compared to thermocatalytic analyzers.
  • Combination of chemical oxidation, UV irradiation, and heating provides efficient mineralization of organic substances.
  • Ideal for samples with ultra-low organic carbon content — such as purified or distilled water.
  • Automatic sample dilution within a 2–50× range for enhanced measurement precision.
  • Use of high-purity nitrogen as carrier gas ensures stable and accurate analytical results.
